Engraver Remo Giatti was inspired by the lives of the holy evangelists for his most recent graphic production. The cycle entitled ๐รฉ๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ฆ, influenced by a reading of Jacopo da Varagine's ๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ข ๐ข๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข, shows how strong the religious tradition still is despite the process of secularization of society that has been taking place for at least two centuries now.
Giatti's work, which is the result of careful research and highly innovative, while being inserted in the groove of tradition, fits perfectly into the new cultural temperament that can give new impetus to the production of "sacred art," updated to the languages of modern culture, as desired by Pope Francis who, in his writings, has shown that he is open to a kind of phenomenology of artistic expressions, beyond traditional aesthetic canons.
